Introducing our new line of Lawn Science® Turf Fertilizers!

Others start with your grass, LawnScience® starts with your soil. That describes how your LawnScience® team is different from other lawn seed and lawn fertilizer retailers. We look to the soil for your specific nutrient requirements and make our recommendations based on those facts. We work from the ground up. From there we can recommend weed control products as well as turf seed needs for specific conditions such as shady areas, heavy traffic, droughty type soils etc. Our goal is to provide you with the best recommendations as well as the top performing products available for the do it yourself homeowner lawns.

The Science is in the Seed!
Trying to grow lush, green turf with the “wrong” seeds is like trying to grow an apple tree from a pumpkin seed – no amount of watering, fertilizing, or reseeding will give you the results you’re looking for. That’s why EarthCarpetTM has taken a revolutionary approach. They’ve spent years cultivating the right seeds for the right conditions. Whatever the challenge, EarthCarpetTM makes a seed mix that will not only transform that lawn, but will save you money on fertilizer, watering, pest control, and excessive mowing. Once you choose EarthCarpet, you will sweat less and enjoy your lawn more. Guaranteed.

Uutilize the navigation menu at the top of their website to discover all the ways that EarthCarpetTM can meet your turf needs.

Easy-To-Follow 4-Stage Lawn Care Program

Three Primary Nutrients are Represented By a Series of Numbers on Each Bag of Lawn Food, Such as 20-5-10
20 5 10

N = Nitrogen
Nitrogen is necessary in large quantities. It is associated with vigorous vegetative growth and a deep green color.

P = Phosphorus
Phosphorus promotes root growth and formation. It is used in all parts of plant development. Phosphorus application is not needed in most areas of the upper midwest since higher levels are generally found there.

K = Potassium
Potassium is used by plants for overall health, disease resistance and winter-hardiness.

Stage 1 - Crabgrass Preventer

Apply LawnScience Pro Series® Crabgrass Preventer 15-0-4 with a .10% Crab-Buster® early to mid-Spring, before soil temperature reaches 60 degrees F or before early germinating crabgrass reaches the 2-leaf stage. It is a unique combination of lawn food and pre-emergent and early post-emergent for control of crabgrass, providing up to 3-4 months control of crabgrass and other annual broadleafs and grasses. It supplies the vital nutrients a healthy lawn needs.

Stage 2 - Weed & Feed

Apply LawnScience Pro Series® Weed & Feed 20-0-5 Mid-April - July when broadleaf weeds are actively growing. The TRIMEC® in Weed & Feed provides post-emergent control of dandelions as well as 200 other broadleaf weeds. It also supplies the key nutrients for a healthy, lush lawn. Apply to damp grass or sprinkle lightly before application. Do not water or mow for 48 hours after application.

Stage 3 - Premium Lawn Food

Apply LawnScience Pro Series® Premium Lawn Food 24-0-6 April - September. This high-quality lawn food provides generous amounts of Nitrogen and Potassium needed for a vigorous, healthy lawn. Nitrogen is supplied in two ways: an immediate release for fast greenup and a slow-release Nitrogen for extended feeding and long-lasting vitality.

Stage 4 - Premium Lawn Food

Apply LawnScience Pro Series® Winterizer Fertilizer 32-0-16 in Late September - November . Fall fertilization is one of the most critical times of the year for lawns which are about to become dormant for the winter period. They need a good nutrient supply to fight off diseases as well as to build up root reserves to survive the winter. The added advantage is that fall fertilization helps get lawns off to a quicker start in the spring.
